One of the biggest misconceptions is that you must have perfect genes to have the perfect skin. While genetics may play a specific role in our overall make up, it doesn’t disqualify the ability of having healthy skin.

While frequent exercise can be linked to a healthy and fit body, practicing moderate exercises can ensure a healthy glow to your skin. The proper amount of sleep is also very imperative to maintaining smooth skin.

Breaking a sweat while exercising will benefit in healthy skin! A good work out will get the blood flowing while opening those pores. This creates great circulation that results in a healthier glow.

Allowing your body to get the adequate amount of rest is just as important:

  • Skin rebuilds itself while you are sleep. It is recommended to get at least seven to eight hours of sleep each night.
  • The proper amount of rest will prevent bags and dark circles under and around the eyes.
  • Allowing yourself a good amount of rest also reduces stress levels, which can be linked to aiding in healthy skin.      

Essential Oils

Essential oils are wonderful for developing and maintaining healthy skin care. They allow the skin to be properly moisturized and retain its softness. Essential oils are used to cleanse and stimulate the tissue. Depending on your skin type, there are specific essential oils that work best from dry to oily skin. The wonderful benefit about essential oils is that they are light enough to penetrate the skin and be absorbed without clogging up your pores.

Oils such as lavender, sandalwood, and chamomile are very good for dry skin, while lemon, frankincense, and bergamot are wonderful for more oily skin types.


Diet and Water Intake

What you put in normally comes out.

Staying hydrated doesn’t only mean just drinking water. While it is very essential, eating fruits and vegetables that provide natural water intake is highly recommended, and is equally as important. Fresh fruit and vegetables will give your skin a radiant and natural glow. Remember what you put will reflect on what comes out.

Exfoliating the skin about once a week is suggested to remove dry flaky skin cells.  Moisturize your skin every day. All skin types need this.

How often should you cleanse your face? In the morning and in the evening. This will ensure that you remove dirt, sweat, and makeup from your skin and pores.
