7 Skincare Ingredients to Avoid

In the last five to six years, we have seen a major shift in the way we consume all across the board. Most people are choosing more plant-based and organic options, there has been a revolution in self-care and healing and of course, the beauty industry did not miss a beat! While it may seem like an eye-rolling moment to think that the beauty industry just hopped on the “Healthy Bandwagon”, it’s actually a great thing. There are so many amazing products and brands dedicated to a non-toxic approach.

We know, you’ve heard people say “you are what you eat” for a while now, but it is totally true! Consumption affects us on a cellular level. The millions of cells in your body that make up your skin, bones, organs, and hair, are all regenerated from the food you consume and the products you use every single day. If you haven’t already, make a habit of reading the back of boxes, packages, and products (food and body) and review the ingredients to see how many you can actually pronounce. If you become stumped by a rather long and complex word, it’s a chemical and it doesn’t belong on or in your body. These chemicals are harmful and can irritate the skin, pollute your endocrine and immune systems, and throw your hormones way out of balance.

As always beauties, we’ve got you covered! Check out our list of 7 common skincare ingredients you should avoid below.

I have an old body wash with triclosan. I had heard this was a problem. Wondering what I can use it for instead of on my skin?
