DIY Night Cream: Featuring Vitamin E!

DIY Night Cream: Featuring Vitamin E!

If you've never used a night cream before, than you're in for a treat! Using it every night you wake up with soft, moisturized skin! Vitamin E is fantastic for skin and has anti-aging properties. It’s also good for softening skin and reducing the appearance of scars and dark spots.

The cocoa butter and coconut oil in this cream really hydrates your skin. Perfect for cooler months when our skin starts to get dry.

100% natural and pure. And it’s also easy to customize! You can use any essential oil you want to add a scent to your cream. I chose lavender because it’s really calming and perfect for bedtime.

The Butter Bar Vitamin E Cream

DIY Vitamin E Night Cream Recipe

  • 3 tablespoons cocoa butter
  • 4 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon vitamin E oil
  • 4 drops your favourite essential oil {I used lavender}

  1. In a double-boiler, or a heat-safe bowl over a pot of boiling water, melt the cocoa butter and coconut oil. Whisk together to combine.
  2. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Whisk in vitamin E oil and essential oil.
  3. If you were using a pot, transfer your mixture to a medium-size bowl. Place the bowl, covered with plastic wrap, in the refrigerator for one hour.
  4. Then, whisk vigorously until the cream is light and fluffy. This is easiest done with an electric mixer but I managed whisking by hand so you can do it that way too!
  5. Cover bowl with plastic wrap again and refrigerate for half an hour.
  6. Whisk vigorously again until light and fluffy. Scoop into a quarter-pint size mason jar and cover tightly.
  7. Before bed, apply a small amount to a clean face.
  8. Wake up with great skin & Cleanse as usual!

Be sure to only apply this cream at night- it needs all night to absorb into your skin. If you don’t give it time your face will look super shiny/oily so you don't want to use it during the day.

There you go! Enjoy!
